Should I add a carbon filter to my reverse osmosis filtration system?

Asked a year ago

My boyfriend wants us to replace our apartment's water filter. I suggested we try reverse osmosis filters to get some of the best water quality possible. He is, however, concerned about the taste of the water and wishes to install a carbon filter. I'm not sure about this.

Reverse osmosis can improve the taste of drinking water as well. But it all depends on your reason for wanting to filter your water. If the reason is primarily because of a chlorine smell and taste, a carbon filter is a good option. If you're looking to completely purify your water, RO is a better choice.
