Can poor thermoregulation from hydrating cause poor performance?
Asked 4 months ago
My company has these team-building events and activities that everyone needs to participate in. This year I’m coaching the marketing team for the soccer tournament, and I want to make sure my team is at its peak performance. I want to prevent them from overheating during the tournament and improve their performance.

Water plays an important role as a thermoregulator, regulating the overall body temperature by helping dissipate heat. Dehydration impairs thermoregulation. When the body doesn't have enough fluids, it's hard to maintain a regular body temperature which can definitely affect performance. If someone is dehydrated and unable to regulate their temperature, they could overheat, leading to hyperthermia.
