Why does desalinated water does not quench my thirst?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi. I traveled to Miami and the first thing I noticed was that the tap water does not quench my thirst and left a bitter aftertaste. When I looked up which purification system the city uses, it turned out that the water is desalinated. I will be staying here for a while, and I don't want to compromise my health during this period. s it still okay to drink tap water, or should I buy bottled water instead?

Desalinated water has none of the essential minerals naturally found in groundwater and normal tap water. Drinking water unmineralized water leaches essential minerals from your body and leads to dehydration and health issues. On a short-term basis, it may be okay to drink the tap water, but if possible, try and drink water with essential minerals.
