Does glass change the taste of water?
Asked 2 years ago
I don’t know if it's just me, but water tastes different in a glass than when I drink out of a mug or from my steel water bottle. It actually tends to taste better in a glass. Is there some kind of scientific explanation behind this, or does glass change the way water tastes?

Glass is a more inert material, so it's less likely to affect your water's flavor. However, if you are tasting something different depending on which glass you drink from, it could be because of smell and not actually taste. Smell plays a big role in what you taste, so there may be a residual smell in a certain glass that affects the "taste" of your water.
