Do I need an alkaline pitcher to improve the flavor of RO water?

I was ecstatic to receive my reverse osmosis water system. My water has a pH of neutral, which I believe is the source of the weird taste. I'm looking for a natural way to boost its alkalinity. My friend suggested purchasing an alkaline pitcher to enhance the flavor profile. I'm not sure if it's the right fit for me.
