What water contaminants are not removed by water filtration?
Asked 2 years ago
I am interested in learning more about contaminants in water and the water filtration process. I know that some filters and purification devices will remove naturally occurring odors and improve the taste, but I want to know if there are contaminants that filter systems cannot remove.Â

Water filtration is effective at removing a range of contaminants, but there isn't one single water filter that removes everything. What is left behind depends on the type of filter, for example, UV filtration doesn't work in murky water, and activated carbon filters don't remove microbial contaminants. The ultimate filtration system uses a combination of treatment methods.
