Does aerating distilled water improve taste?

Asked 2 years ago

My apartment has a water distillation system in place, and I’m not a big fan of the way it tastes. My cousin said to view other options. I came across aeration. I’m thinking of aerating the distilled water to try and improve the taste.

Indeed it does. Purified air is added to distilled water in a process called aeration. Aeration also increases the water's oxygen content and removes carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide which are responsible for some waters' bad odor or taste. The efficacy of aeration depends on the amount of surface contact between the air bubbles and the water.
