What are the risks of drinking filtered soft water?
Asked 2 years ago
My parents live in a complex block where everybody drinks the same filtered soft water. Is there any risk to drinking filtered soft water? I need to make sure that they are not ingesting water that is not safe to drink and which might pose any health effects in the long run.

There are no health risks associated with drinking soft water. Soft water contains trace amounts of sodium, so if you drink 8 glasses of water daily, you will only consume 10% of your sodium RDA. Soft water does not contain magnesium or calcium, but these minerals are available in a wide variety of foods.
