What's the best way to check pH level of water in aquarium?

Asked 2 years ago

My dad bought me an aquarium for my birthday. He is aware of my interest in aquatic ecosystems and my desire for exotic fish. I live near the coast and just refilled it with what appears to be clean sea water. I recently noticed a strange color in the water and suspect that the pH levels are off. Is there any way I can confirm it?

The easiest way to test the pH level of aquarium water is to use an electronic pH meter, which can be found at a pet store. Different fish species need a specific pH, but most saltwater aquariums require a pH level between 8.0 and 8.4 for optimum health.
