Alkaline vs. Living Water: Are They the Same?
Alkaline water has a higher pH level. Living water has a different molecular structure to normal water. Both claim to have the same health benefits for the body
Updated June 12, 2023.
Nowadays, there are so many different kinds of water on the market. Alkaline water has a higher pH level than normal drinking water, while living water, also known as structured water or hexagonal water, has a molecular structure that's been altered to form a hexagonal cluster. There's a constant debate between structured water vs. alkaline water, and here are the key differences.
4 Key Differences Between Alkaline and Living Water
1. pH Level
Alkaline water has a pH of 8 or 9, while living water has a pH of 7. More often than not, alkaline water needs to be specially formulated to have a higher pH level, for example, through a chemical process like electrolysis. There are also natural ways to increase the pH level of drinking water at home.
2. Molecular Structure
In nature, living water can be found in glacier melts, mountain springs, and other untouched sources. This water flows over rocks and around corners, causing the water to swirl, therefore restructuring its molecules. The molecules form a hexagonal structure and have a chemical formula of H3O2. In practice, structured water is manufactured by using vortexing devices to replicate what happens in nature.
3. Neutralize Acidity
Alkaline water is believed to neutralize any acidity in the body because of its high pH level. Living water doesn't have this effect on the body, but one of the benefits of living water is that its hexagonal structure makes it easier to absorb.
4. Mineral Composition
Alkaline water is considered to be hard water because it contains high levels of alkalizing minerals, including potassium, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate, and other trace elements. Structured water contains all the minerals found naturally in water in appropriate quantities.
Shared Benefits of Alkaline and Living Water
Despite their differences, both alkaline water and living water claim many of the same health benefits, such as strengthened immunity, increased absorption, greater energy reserves, and a better sense of well-being.
