I want a water filtration system that effectively and efficiently removes bacteria. Is ultraviolet filtration the right choice?

Yes, ultraviolet (UV) filtration is very effective at removing contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, cysts, and protozoans from water. Also, UV water filtration is safe as it does not use harmful chemicals or alter the composition of water. Be aware that a UV filter does not remove minerals or impurities, and it is ineffective in muddy water.
