Is a rapid heartbeat and hyperventilation a sign of dehydration?

Asked 2 years ago

I live in a hot and humid environment, and I enjoy cycling as a hobby. I thought this would be the best way for me to keep active and fit, but I’m worried about heat-related problems. I’m looking for the best way to avoid heatstroke, dehydration, and other heat-related illnesses when I’m out riding. I noticed something from my last session. I was hyperventilating and my heart was beating faster than normal.

Some initial signs of dehydration include a rapid heartbeat due to the reduced amount of electrolytes in your body. Hyperventilation could be a sign of dehydration but also could indicate you're not breathing effectively while cycling. The best way to avoid heatstroke and dehydration would be to cycle early in the morning or late in the evening,
