Does Ayuverdic medicine cause weight gain?

Asked 11 days ago

I'm considering trying Ayurveda for some health concerns, but I'm also currently focused on managing my weight. I've heard that some treatments involve dietary changes, and I'm a little worried that those changes might lead to weight gain.

I've been down this rabbit hole, and let me tell you, it's not what you think.

Here's the deal:

  1. Ayurveda isn't about stuffing your face with ghee (though ghee is pretty awesome). It's all about balance!
  2. They're big on whole foods. Like, actual food your grandma would recognize. No more late-night Cheeto binges!
  3. No more scrolling through Reddit while inhaling your lunch. Actually taste your food, what a concept!
  4. If you're prone to chonk, they've got this thing called a Kapha-pacifying diet. Basically, eat warm, light stuff. Your body will thank you.
  5. There are studies showing people actually lost weight on Ayurvedic diets. We're talking real numbers here, not just "I feel lighter" BS.
  6. They're all about that yoga and chill lifestyle. Less stress = less stress eating.
