Is groundwater used to supplement fresh water sources in the USA?
Asked 2 years ago
Hello everyone, I'm from Texas, and I've started looking into the water sources that the city uses to supply its people. I know the city generally uses fresh water sources, but what happens when these run low? Do they use groundwater?

Apart from lakes and rivers, a large part of drinking water in the USA comes from groundwater sources. Groundwater is naturally filtered through soil and rocks. This groundwater then flows from intake points into treatment plants. From there, it moves to storage tanks and then to houses through various pipe systems.
