Does home water pressure matter when choosing a Reverse Osmosis water filter?

Asked 2 years ago

I've been doing home improvements, and I'd like to install a reverse osmosis filter. I was researching water filtration systems and came across something about water pressure. My street has slightly above-average water pressure, around 40 PSI, and I'm wondering if this will be a factor in selecting a good system.

Water pressure plays a large role in a reverse osmosis system. When it comes to an RO filter, the ideal water pressure is 60 PSI. A lower water pressure will still work, but anything below 40 PSI is usually considered insufficient and will need to be boosted using a pressure booster pump.
