Should I be alarmed if my RO osmosis filter makes loud gurgling sounds?
Asked 2 years ago
My husband recently bought a reverse osmosis filter for our new home. I live in a flood-prone area, and our water quality suffers during hurricane season. When filtering water, I noticed the filter makes some noises. However, the system has been making loud gurgling noises. Should I be concerned, or is this normal?

Reverse osmosis systems do make a soft humming sound when they process the water. A slight gurgling noise is also normal from the sink or drain, which is reject process water flowing down the drain. If the gurgling gets louder or doesn't stop, it could be a sign that there is an obstruction in the drain pipe.
