Are prenatal and postnatal vitamins the same?
Asked 13 days ago
I’m trying to figure out the best vitamins to take after having my baby. I’ve been on prenatal vitamins throughout my pregnancy, but I’m not sure if I should keep taking them or switch to postnatal vitamins. What’s the difference between the two?

From my experience and what my doctor told me, they're pretty similar but not exactly the same.I kept taking my prenatals for a while after giving birth because my OB said it was fine. But then I switched to postnatal vitamins, and I noticed a few differences:
- The postnatal ones had more calcium and vitamin D, which my doc said was good for breastfeeding.
- They seemed to have a bit less folic acid than my prenatals.
- The postnatal vitamins included some extras like omega-3s that weren't in my prenatals.
Honestly, the biggest difference I noticed was that the postnatal vitamins were easier on my stomach. Those prenatals used to make me so nauseous!
