I’m breastfeeding my 3-month-old and have been reading about how zinc can help with immune support. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit run down, so I’m wondering if taking a zinc supplement would be safe and beneficial while nursing.

I actually asked my doctor about zinc when I was nursing my little one.From what I learned and experienced, zinc while breastfeeding is generally okay. My doc said it's actually pretty important for both me and the baby. I ended up taking a postnatal vitamin that included zinc, which felt like a safe way to go about it.
