How much lead is considered dangerous in drinking water?
Asked 2 years ago
I understand that consuming lead overall is not good for one's health. However, I've heard that despite a city's attempt to purify water, it can still become contaminated through old or corroded pipes used to feed the water to each household. I want to use the lead test on my household water. Any idea what level of level is 'acceptable?'

The Centers for Disease Control said that blood lead concentrations of over 5 micrograms per deciliter of blood indicate lead poisoning and are significantly related to the amount of lead in drinking water. The EPA set the maximum allowable concentration of lead at 15 µg/L, but experts on lead toxicology believe that it should be 10 µg/L or less.
