How does the pH of bottled water compare to tap water?

Asked a year ago

I've become more conscious about the water I drink these days and have since switched to bottled mineral/spring water. I'd like to know if the pH of bottled water is different to the pH of tap water. If so, why?

In general, the pH of bottled water tends to be similar to tap water, which is typically between 6.5-8.5. However, some bottled waters may be processed in ways that affect their pH. For example, some brands may add minerals to to make it more alkaline or acidic, while others may use reverse osmosis or other filtration methods that can affect the pH.
