Will a reverse osmosis water filter reduce my home's water pressure?
Asked 2 years ago
My wife wants me to get a reverse osmosis water filter for her new kitchen. My house is on a slope, so I occasionally have low water pressure. I'm concerned that installing this system will reduce the pressure even further. Should I be worried?

Water pressure plays a large role in a reverse osmosis system. Ideally, you need to have a water pressure of 60 PSI. A little less pressure typically still works, but anything less than 40 PSI is considered inadequate. In general, reverse osmosis systems also cut the line pressure by 30 to 35 percent.
