Is a water pressure booster pump necessary before installing a RO water filter?
Asked 2 years ago
I want to get a reverse osmosis water filter for my new condo. The location is at the top of a slope, and I occasionally have low water pressure. If I install this system, I'm concerned that the pressure will drop even further. My friend suggested I get a pressure booster pump. I'm worried that this is too much.

Water pressure greatly affects the functioning of a reverse osmosis system. The ideal pressure is 60 PSI. Lower water pressure will still work, but anything below 40 PSI is considered inadequate. If your water pressure is too low, you will have to get a pressure booster pump to ensure your RO filter works properly.
