Is electrolyte water essential for avoiding mineral leaching in the body?
Asked 2 years ago
My wife wants us to get a reverse osmosis filter. I've been looking into the filtering system and am impressed by how well it removes all potentially harmful elements. But I'm worried that it will leach the good nutrients out of my drinking water and out of our bodies. Can I avoid this by simply adding electrolytes?

Reverse osmosis is a very effective system for purifying water. However, the downfall is that it does also remove the essential minerals. Electrolytes are minerals like sodium, calcium, and potassium and contribute to vital bodily functioning. You can avoid mineral leaching by remineralizing your water with mineral drops (electrolytes).
