Does adding minerals to RO water increase the alkalinity of water?

Asked 2 years ago

I recently picked up a reverse osmosis system and have been enjoying the pure water. My water has been leaning toward the acidic side for some reason, which I believe is the cause of the bland taste. I'm looking for a non-hazardous way to boost its alkalinity. I'd like to experiment with mineral drops, but I'm not sure if they're appropriate for me.

Yes, the mineral content of water has a direct effect on the pH level. Reverse osmosis removes all essential minerals from water, making it neutral or more acidic. Adding mineral drops will increase the pH and improve the taste of your reverse osmosis water.
