What color is purified water supposed to be?
Asked 3 years ago
Whenever I go to my holiday home in the mountains, the water coming out of the tap is always a little bit brown. Is this water still healthy to drink and wash yourself with? What color is safe and clean water supposed to be?

Pure water is typically colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Minerals, sediment, and rust are generally the cause of brown water. Being a holiday home, the water is likely left to sit for a while, and when you turn on the tap, it stirs up these deposits. If the reason for the brown water is simply minerals or sediment, leave the tap to run for a while, and it will likely turn clear.
