Can i eat chocolate while breastfeeding?
Asked 3 days ago
I'm a new mom and breastfeeding my baby. I've been craving chocolate like crazy lately! I know it contains caffeine, and I'm a little worried about how that might affect my baby. Is it okay to indulge in a little chocolate now and then, or should I avoid it altogether?

I totally get those cravings - I swear my body was 50% chocolate when I was breastfeeding! 😂
From my experience (and a lot of late-night Googling), a bit of chocolate is totally fine. I ate chocolate pretty regularly and my little one never had any issues. Most docs say to keep your caffeine under 300mg a day, but there's way less caffeine in chocolate than coffee.
If you're super worried, maybe start with a small amount and see how your baby reacts. Every kid is different, you know? Mine could handle chocolate fine, but my friend's baby got super fussy if she had any.
Pro tip: I found dark chocolate helped with my milk supply! Not sure if it was the chocolate or just me feeling happier, but hey, I'll take it!
