Does the pH of drinking water affect the absorption of nutrients?
Asked 2 years ago
With supplements there are certain minerals that improves the absorption of nutrients etc. Is this the same with the pH of drinking water? Does it effect the way we absorb the minerals in water?

Water pH can affect the way minerals are absorbed by the body. Various types of water have different minerals that have different optimal pH ranges for absorption. For example, calcium and magnesium are most easily absorbed by the body in slightly alkaline conditions. Some minerals, like iron and zinc, are best absorbed in slightly acidic conditions.
