Can remineralizing RO water clog water fixtures and appliances?
Asked 2 years ago
I live in an old apartment. The water for some reason was causing limescale buildup and clogging up my kitchen faucet. I bought a reverse osmosis system and now have much cleaner, softer water. I'd like to replenish some lost minerals, but I'm afraid they'll clog my kitchen appliances again.

Certain minerals like calcium and magnesium make water hard, which causes a buildup of limescale in pipes. However, this only happens when these minerals are in excess. Adding mineral drops to your water (especially once the water is in a pitcher) shouldn't affect your appliances because the minerals are balanced.
