Will remineralizing RO water cause limescale to accumulate in kitchen appliances?

Asked 3 years ago

I live on a private reservation with my own well. For some reason, the groundwater was causing limescale buildup in my kitchen and bathroom faucets. I bought a reverse osmosis system and now have much cleaner, softer water. I'd like to replenish some lost minerals, but I'm concerned that doing so will resurface the limescale problem.

The limescale buildup is caused by an excess amount of calcium and magnesium in your water. Remineralizing your water through a method like mineral drops shouldn't harm your appliances because the minerals are balanced.
