Are there minerals that cannot be removed by distillation?

Asked 2 years ago

I want to get a water distiller installed, but I'm of two minds about it and a bit hesitant about it. I want a water filtering system that will remove contaminants like dangerous heavy metals so that I don't get sick. Does distilling water keep the minerals in the water?

Distillation removes all sediments and soluble minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous as well as dangerous heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and mercury. It also removes viruses, micro-organisms, contaminants, bacteria, and poisons. Distillation does not remove substances like alcohol, oil, or petroleum because they have a lower boiling point than water.
