Is it bad for bone health to drink RO water without remineralizing?
Asked 2 years ago
I recently picked up a reverse osmosis filter for my apartment. I've been drinking filtered water, but it doesn't taste great. I have a chronic bone condition, and I'm worried that drinking water like this might not be the best thing for my bone health. Do I need to add minerals to it?

Calcium is one of the minerals found in normal drinking water and maintains healthy bones. Because reverse osmosis removes all the essential minerals from water, it contains no calcium, which can lead to more brittle bones. It is recommended to remineralize your RO water with mineral drops to get all the nutrients your body needs.
