What gassy foods should I avoid while breastfeeding?
Asked 13 days ago
My baby has been having a lot of gas lately, and it's making them really uncomfortable. I'm breastfeeding, and I've heard that certain foods in my diet can contribute to gas in breastfed babies. I'm trying to figure out if there are any specific foods I should be avoiding to see if it helps.

I feel you. My little one was like a tiny tuba for the first few months. 😆
Here's what I figured out:
- Dairy was the DEVIL for us. As soon as I cut it out, my kid's toots decreased by like 80%.
- Broccoli and cauliflower were definite no-nos. Which sucked because I love me some roasted veggies.
- Spicy food was hit or miss. Sometimes fine, sometimes... not so much.
- Coffee. 😭 I had to cut back to one cup a day. It was rough, but it helped.
You can keep a food diary. It sounds like a pain, but it really helps you figure out what's causing issues.Remember though, all babies are different. What makes my kid gassy might be totally fine for yours. It's all about trial and error.
Hang in there! This too shall pass (pun totally intended 😂).
