Is Reverse Osmosis filtered water harmful to my teeth?

I recently bought a reverse osmosis water filter for my home. My two children are still developing their first sets of teeth. We usually brush our teeth with filtered water together. I'm concerned that continuing to brush our teeth with filtered water might not be such a good idea. Should I be worried?

Normal drinking water contains fluoride, which is added to protect your teeth. Reverse osmosis removes most of the contaminants from water but also removes essential minerals and fluoride. If you and your children are brushing your teeth with reverse osmosis water, you'll have to do some extra work to protect your teeth to avoid cavities and tooth decay.
