Will Reverse osmosis filters get rid of hard metals in my drinking water?
Asked 2 years ago
I recently relocated to the city, and my apartment complex has old water pipes. My tap water always tastes metallic, which I believe is not normal. I want to try reverse osmosis filters for a more pure option. I'm curious if it will remove all the metals in the water

Metals like iron, manganese, zinc, and copper are all commonly found in drinking water and result in that unwanted metallic taste. Most old pipes are made from iron so this is likely the culprit. The good news is that reverse osmosis is highly effective at removing these metals, resulting in purer, better tasting water.
