Does a sticky or dry mouth highlight that I need to drink more water?
Does a sticky or dry mouth highlight that I need to drink more water?

I started working out as per my doctors suggestions, I found out last week that I am prediabetic. I decided that I am going to make a few lifestyle changes, be more active and be mindful of what I put in my body. I started jogging because it’s much cheaper than a gym membership and would also help with weight loss. I drink water, but during my runs my mouth sometimes gets sticky and dry, what does this mean?

Having a sticky, dry mouth can be common amongst runners. It could be caused by the way you are breathing while running or your hydration levels. When your body is dehydrated from excess sweating, it causes a decrease in saliva production. Try and drink a little more water during your runs to see if that helps.
