Does Gatorade speed up rehydration compared to electrolyte water?
Asked 2 years ago
I take part in a lot of high-intensity sports sessions, and dehydration is more likely in my case. I want the fastest way to rehydrate after an intense sporting activity, especially when I’m taking part in tournaments during the summer. Is it recommended to have electrolyte water over Gatorade? A lot of athletes drink sports drinks at these tournaments.

Both Gatorade and electrolyte water contains electrolytes and essentially work the same way to rehydrate your body. However, they can be used for different purposes. Gatorade provides energy in the form of carbohydrates, with some electrolyes, to help you train longer without fatigue. Electrolyte water has a high electrolyte content without the carbs to replenish what you sweat out.
