Will installing a Reverse Osmosis filtration system raise my power bill?

Asked a year ago

I recently moved to Flint with my kids and have been concerned about the water quality. My cousin assured me the water was safe, but I remained skeptical. I'm looking into reverse osmosis filters to protect my children's drinking water. I'm anxious that the system will increase my power bill. Should I be concerned?

Household reverse osmosis systems typically don't use electricity and run off water pressure instead. The system will only use electricity if you need to use an electric pressure-boost pump or a UV lamp.
